Search for missing man relocated to Louisiana

The search for a missing Louisiana man whose vehicle was found abandoned in Adams County almost two weeks ago was moved to Louisiana Tuesday.

Teams have been searching hundreds of acres of wood lands in Adams County since Jan. 25 when 41-year-old Shaun Thornhill’s truck was found abandoned on Kingston Road.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the search for Thornhill has moved to St. Francisville, La., the location of his last reported sighting.

Monday, an all-volunteer search and rescue team from Slidell, La., searched move than 1,000 acres in the Kingston area branching out from where Thornhill’s truck was found.

Hours of searching by volunteers and multiple K-9s turned up no sightings or findings of Thornhill, according to the sheriff’s office.

In the days immediately following the discovery of Thornhill’s vehicle, Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Adams County’s Search and Rescue Team members and Air Evac pilots searched the woods by ground and air.

Although search efforts have stopped in the Adams County area, local law enforcement is still on the lookout for Thornhill. He is listed as a missing person by the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana.

Thornhill is a white male, has blue eyes, weighs 180 pounds and is 5-feet-10-inches tall.

Adam’s County authorities are encouraging anyone who sees a person fitting Thornhill’s description to call the sheriff’s office at 601-442-2752.
