Escaping domestic violence: It all starts with a phone call | Crime

In 2011, approximately 200 domestic violence cases were reported to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Unfortunately, as it is with most crimes, most domestic violence cases go unreported.

Even though multiple programs have been put in place to help women and men escape abusive relationships, many victims often stay in their violent environments in hopes that one day things will change for the better.

However, the hope of a better tomorrow is not always what makes a person stay in their abusive environment.
